About

Hi, I’m Sharron Booth. I’m a writer who lives on Whadjuk Noongar land in Perth, Western Australia.

I’ve been a professional writer for most of my working life, and my fiction and creative non-fiction have been published across Australia.

I grew up in Yorkshire, England, and my family moved to the southern suburbs of Perth as part of the 1970s wave of British migrants.

I survived high school with the help of punk, post-punk, cricket, and underage drinking. I dropped out of uni to work as an advertising copywriter but decades later I finally went back and ended up completing a PhD.

When I’m not writing or reading, you’ll find me at the beach, listening to live music, browsing in secondhand bookshops and record shops, or baking for my loved ones.

The Silence of Water is my first novel. Find out more about it here.
